Parents – All of this is offered to you so you have choices for your children during this time. None of it is required. If you have questions, feedback, or need help, please e-mail me at [email protected]. I will check my e-mail every morning. Stay safe.
I am now posting links from my home computer. If they don't work, please let me know! We're all learning as we go.
April 7 - This little book is best for 5th, but lower grades can tackle it as well, perhaps with help from https://www.wordreference.com.
Fifth graders should be able to tackle this on their own without parental involvement.
We have just finished a unit on las mascotas (pets), so the vocabulary should be familiar.
Notes for students - remember that "va a" means "goes to", "le da" means " give him/her". Remember that "nada" means "nothing". One new expression: "choca con" means to crash into or collide with. If you crash into someone or something, you can say "Choco con...." and fill in the Spanish name of whoever or whatever you crashed into!

April 6 - Here's a puzzle that we have done in one class. It's a fun way for students to refresh vocabulary. Best for (but not restricted to) 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Print out and let the student cut, shuffle, and assemble.

April 1 – New things you can do every day!
(1) When you wash your hands, sing “Los Pollitos,” “Uno Dos Tres,” or the color song (“Red is Rojo”) twice.
(2) When you get dressed in the morning, say “Me pongo….” (I am putting on) and then the name of the item of clothing you are putting on. For example, “Me pongo la camisa. Me pongo los pantalones…” (If you have forgotten names of clothing items, refresh your memory with https://www.onlinefreespanish.com/aplica/lessons/clothes/clothesmenu.htm
(3) When you need to count something, count it in Spanish. See how high you can go.
https://www.onlinefreespanish.com/level1.htm
(4)When you eat, try to name your food in Spanish. Sing the “Cheese is Queso” song to help you.
(5) If you have a little brother or sister, teach them “Cabeza, Hombros, Rodillas, Pies” in Spanish, and then teach them how to play Simon Dice in Spanish.

5th Grade
I will miss teaching you all so much. But you are so advanced that you can move at your own pace through the material below and be more than ready for 7th grade Spanish in 2021.
1. Review Spanishdict. Skip lessons 7 and 8 (both numbered 1.7 for some reason). We don’t want you to be too advanced before 7th grade! These will review a lot of the material we have had in a different way and introduce some new things. Go at your own pace so that you are comfortable. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL18DCAA11F203EE63
2. Start working your way through the basic Señor Jordan videos: A lot of the material at first will be review, but then he introduces new material. Work at your own pace. Stop and start and don’t rush. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jVyHCD3faU&list=
3. For fun, you can start watching the funny videos from Señor Wooly, the wonderful fellow who brought you “Puedo Ir al Baño” and “Billy La Bufanda.” https://www.youtube.com/user/SrWooly/videos
4. To look up words you don’t know, use https://www.wordreference.com/ Once you have found the Spanish word, click on “listen” by the word and you can hear it pronounced in the Spanish of Spain, Argentina, or Mexico.
